2025 Year In Review
2025 Week 5 (Kansas)
My plans were to see two games in Kansas. Centered around a single game on Saturday night in Johnson City. A place I had wanted to see a game at for quite some time. Located in southwest Kansas, it was on my list and that meant my Friday night game was just somewhere within driving distance.

2023 Week 6 (Nebraska & Kansas)

2022 Year In Review
After the last two years, it’s hard to say that a season was unusual. 2020 had so many twists and turns. Including spring games until June in New York City. Last year, there was some turbulence with scheduling. And I hurt my back after my trip to Arizona and things went downhill as the season went on.
This year, I was mostly healthy. Though getting older is not without its pitfalls. And things seemed to go on as planned. But my entire year had been affected by things including the economy and personal matters. I usually have a rather open personal life in the fall for football. 2022 Week 10 (Texas & Kansas)
My week in Texas wasn’t all it was cracked up to be. I spent four days south of Lubbock. By that point, I wanted to find something I could watch on my way to Kansas. For Thursday, I had options at Lowery Field, as well as Southland. But, the one game I wanted to see was in Follett. The far northeastern corner of Texas. 2021 Year In Review
After an unimaginable 2020 season, this year was a bit more relaxed. Though rushed. With the previous season ending in June, there was little downtime before the 2021 season started. This affected my usual summer plans, as well as made the financial planning a bit more precarious. I wasn’t sure, in the summer, just how much I would or could do. But, I was intent on doing as much as possible. And though a lot was ‘old’, there was a lot of ‘new’ thrown in. Including my month long trip around the middle of the country. 2021 Week 10 (Great Plains)
So, these are all going to be just a tad late. The Sunday after the Week 9 games, I was back in El Paso, Texas and my back was just not having a good time. My next stop was near Lubbock. And I managed through the week and on Thursday afternoon, was looking for any game. I had planned to be in Dodge City for the Six-Man Championships of Kansas, dubbed the Wild West Bowl, but other than that, hadn’t thought about this weekend too much in advance. 2021 Week 7 (Kansas)
I figured at some point this season, I’d be making a trip west. I just didn’t think it would be this weekend. However, it was going to be an area I was now quite familiar with.
Junction City, located about two hours west of Kansas City, was hosting a Thursday night game against Topeka. I have been to Junction City before. 2020 Week 12 (Colorado & Kansas)
Earlier this season, I had seen games around the western states of Utah, Montana, North Dakota, and Texas. And, at the time, I had assumed that once I returned to Ohio, that I would stick to Ohio and Pennsylvania through the remainder of the season until any later trips. After my good fortune last weekend getting four games in, things were a bit rockier in Week 6. I was still in the western plains, and though there were a few Thursday options, Saturday in Kansas is basically devoid of games. There were a few games near Denver and two in western Missouri.
