I wasn’t planning to be home during Week 11. In fact, I had already planned to be in Montana again. But things don’t always go as planned. And finding myself at home I looked around the great lakes states and found some Wednesday and Thursday games in New York that I could attend. Not just Pennsylvania games.

Week Ten started on a Tuesday. In a rarity, a postponed game from earlier in the season was made up on a Tuesday before the regular season finale. In addition, I surveyed the schedule and settled on all Ohio games for the first weekend in a long, long time.

After getting home the previous week, I had planned to be in New York for a CSP game, and couple that with a trip to Greenville Saturday night. Thursday was likely to be in Brooke County, West Virginia. So, Friday was the only open spot. And I was hoping to make it so that I would be in four states for the week.

It was a long time out west seeing games in Montana for three straight weekends. As well as a weekend in Nebraska and Colorado. But now I was back home and had plans to see one very important game. And mark a few places off my list.

2024 Week 7 (Montana & Wyoming)

What a weekend of football it turned out to be. I was in Montana, with the prospect of another Saturday afternoon in the central part of the state. Or, I could go far east or south into Wyoming. Eastern Montana had just a couple afternoon games. While Midwest, Wyoming was hosting a Saturday night homecoming game. And I chose that. And did I pick a great one.

For a second straight weekend, I was in the great state of Montana. Central Montana to be precise. Seeing new places, I was running out of options. My Saturday was determined by the lone afternoon game anywhere west of the North Dakota state line. Though Wibaux, Savage, Richey/Lambert and Froid/Medicine Lake all had games.

Week 5 was a slow week for games. There wasn’t a lot of options in central Montana. So, Thursdays were out. And a second game on Saturday was unlikely as well. Had I been in eastern Montana, I could have maybe seen another game. But, bouncing around Central Montana has its perks.

I had very different plans for this week at the start of the season. Originally, this was another travel week. Planning a Friday night game in Eastern PA with a doubleheader in Waverly, New York. However, my Friday night plans changed and adjusted my Saturday schedule to accommodate it. Which was, partially, my original Saturday night choice. Continue reading

Another trip east to New Jersey. My third straight year going to the Battle at the Beach in Ocean City. Though, this year had some changes. Because the New Jersey schedule started on Labor Day weekend, the games could not all be played at Ocean City. Friday and Saturday would be moved. But it was still worth it.
