2019 Week 6 (Colorado & Kansas)
After my good fortune last weekend getting four games in, things were a bit rockier in Week 6. I was still in the western plains, and though there were a few Thursday options, Saturday in Kansas is basically devoid of games. There were a few games near Denver and two in western Missouri. Well, I got out to the Sunflower State like I planned. In the process notched State #37 to my all-time list with two games. With a lack of Saturday games, my only options were in Texas and luckily I made the most of it with two games Saturday evening only about an hour apart. Week 4 saw a bit of upheaval with my schedule. Thursday didn’t have much to offer. Either a game at Cupples Stadium, North Royalton, or a three hour drive to Licking Valley. But, none of that happened due to personal reasons. Having already had four games scheduled for Friday and Saturday, I had to pass on a Thursday entirely.
2019 Week 3 (Pennsylvania)
Week 3 ended up a bit more local than I had thought. My original Week 3 plans included trips to Punxsutawney, Erie, Youngstown, and New Philadelphia. But, with a Browns game on Sunday, decided to stick a bit closer to home on Saturday night. Continue reading “2019 Week 3 (Pennsylvania)”
2019 Week 2 (Ohio)
Week 2 opened in Ohio. With the OHSAA bumped back a week starting with this cycle, meant OHSAA Week One games were this weekend. And as with most years, a number of Thursday games in the Mahoning Valley kick off the season. Continue reading “2019 Week 2 (Ohio)”
2019 Week 1 (Pennsylvania)
This week didn’t go exactly as planned. A doubleheader on Friday night in Wexford had to be nixed as my daughter wasn’t feeling well earlier in the day. So, instead, I saw a local game at 7pm just east of New Castle.

2019 Week 0 (Utah)
This season certainly didn’t start out as I had originally planned. Usually, I travel to Kentucky and also sometimes Tennessee for their “Week 0” games. These usually take place a week before Ohio starts. And formerly, two weeks before Pennsylvania would start.
However, due to a fluke of the schedule, Kentucky and Ohio both have had their season reset one weekend into the future this off-season, while Pennsylvania is still running on the same weekend. 2018 Year In Review
This was an interesting year. In 2014, I saw 127 games during the high school football season. Which was 27 more than I had ever seen in a single season. Since then, my goal has been seeing games in new places, rather than just going for the most I could see. Last year saw new trips to South Dakota and Minnesota. This year, the plan included a few new places. In addition to games at Ball State and Tennessee Tech, I happened to find state title games in North Carolina. 2018 Week 18 (Texas)

2018 Week 17 (North Carolina)
A little late getting these last two out. North Carolina and Texas were part of the same trip. Originally, I was planning to take the weekend off and just head to Texas like I do every season.
But, as has happened the past few years, the hurricane season interferred with football season. Pushing back both North Carolina and South Carolina’s season.
