I had planned to be in Colorado this weekend for games. But an opportunity presented itself to me that I couldn’t really pass up. Saturday games in Colorado were going to be quite far from Fort Collins where I was at. However, five games for the Wyoming State Championships were just over an hour northwest in Laramie. And seeing the Wyoming state titles have long been on my list of postseason plans. So, it was settled.

I didn’t expect to be back in North Dakota. In fact, if I had been in North Dakota this weekend. It was state semifinal weekend, and there weren’t a lot of games to choose from. And it was going to be cold. Now, I started the week in Eastern Montana, and there were a few games there I was interested in. But, I was going to be in North Dakota and the drive back-and-forth wasn’t worth it for what would be the same number of games, if that.

The season is drawing to a close. Many states are into the playoffs by now. And I finally saw snow for the first time this season. In Wyoming of all places, high elevation. But still snow. But I had football planned for the weekend and North Dakota would be my 9th state of 2025.

After last week’s trouble with my injured leg, I wasn’t quite sure what I would be doing this week. I was in Alliance, Nebraska most of the week from Sunday through Wednesday. And on Thursday had to find something as the Nebraska 6-man and 8-man playoffs were being played that night.

I did not have much going on this weekend. There were so many games in so many places. And I was back in Casper, Wyoming. And didn’t have a lot of options from there. No Thursday games nearby. And only one reasonably close Saturday game.

Week 6 took me back to Montana. After three weekends in Montana last season, it was good to be back once again. And this time, I had another new place to see. But I wasn’t going to stay in Montana for long, as I had plans for two games on Friday if possible. And a long drive in between.

My plans were to see two games in Kansas. Centered around a single game on Saturday night in Johnson City. A place I had wanted to see a game at for quite some time. Located in southwest Kansas, it was on my list and that meant my Friday night game was just somewhere within driving distance.
